Trump turned the US into sponsor of terrorism, senator says

The United States has effectively become a sponsor of state terrorism, US Senator Chris Murphy stated in his post on X.
Murphy stressed that his assessment of the US administration’s actions was not simply an emotional or political remark, but reflected reality.
"I know that sounds political and hyperbolic, but it is factually true. Russia is intentionally targeting civilians in Ukraine at scale, and Trump is intentionally funding their efforts," the senator said.
Earlier, it emerged that the US had authorized the supply of Russian diesel fuel to global markets. To make this possible, the US Treasury Department is issuing a temporary license that gives Russia access to international trade.
Despite these concessions from Washington, Moscow has offered no compromises in negotiations to end its war against Ukraine, according to analysts at the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) in their latest report.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has also reacted to the decision.
He stressed that Ukrainian cities are the first to feel the consequences of allowing Russian diesel exports, as Russia uses the profits from petroleum products to manufacture weapons and continue its terror campaign against civilians.
