US President Donald Trump wants his country to withdraw from the Paris climate agreement. This will happen for the second time, Reuters reports.

The announcement reflects Trump's skepticism about global warming, which he believes is a hoax.

This move aligns with the President’s plans to free American oil and gas drillers from regulations, enabling them to maximize production.

According to Reuters, the process of the US withdrawal from the Paris climate agreement will take no more than a year.

As the agency reports, after the implementation of this decision, the United States, along with Iran, Libya, and Yemen, will be the only countries in the world that do not participate in the 2015 Paris agreement, under which nations agreed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Currently, the US ranks as the second-largest emitter of greenhouse gases globally, following China. It also holds the top position in the world for oil and natural gas production.

The US has previously withdrawn from the Paris climate agreement

During his first presidential term, Donald Trump already withdrew the US from the Paris climate agreement. At that time, the process took years.

Today, January 20, during his inaugural speech, Donald Trump announced that he would declare a state of emergency in the energy sector.
