Tensions between the US and Iran are rising again. Washington has stated it is ready to resume bombing and is demanding concessions from Tehran, according to a statement by US President Donald Trump during a briefing at the White House.
Trump said the American side is ready to continue striking Iran if no agreement is reached.
"We hit them hard yesterday, and we're going to hit them again hard today," the US leader stressed.
He also emphasized that Washington has the right to take such actions.
"Well, we're going to be attacking them and attacking them very hard. Presuming bombing. Yeah. Well, we are based on the helicopter. I guess we have the right to do that," the US president underlined.
In addition, Trump once again called on Iran to reach a deal with the United States.
"They should sign their deal," he said, adding that Washington is seeking agreements "that make sense and work."
At the same time, the White House chief noted that further developments will depend on whether an agreement is reached.
"We’ll see what happens with the deal," Trump concluded.
The day before, US forces carried out strikes on Iran after an incident over the Strait of Hormuz, where an Apache helicopter was shot down.
According to media reports, the US helicopter may have been hit by an Iranian Shahed-type drone.
On the night of June 10, the US and Iran exchanged reciprocal strikes. US forces targeted Iranian air defense systems, command posts, and radar stations near the Strait of Hormuz, describing the operation as a response to the downing of the helicopter.
