Trump states about 'little progress' in resolving the war in Ukraine
The newly elected President of the United States, Donald Trump, stated that he has made "little progress" regarding the resolution of the war in Ukraine. However, he did not provide further details, he made this statement during a speech to journalists, according to CNN.
During his speech, Trump stated that the number of casualties "on both sides" (Ukraine and Russia - ed.) is likely much higher than previously reported.
"We’re trying to get the war stopped, that horrible, horrible war that’s going on in Ukraine, Russia, Ukraine. We’re going to get a little progress, it’s a tough one, it’s a nasty one, it’s nasty," Trump said.
Trump wants to achieve an end to the war
During his election campaign, newly elected US President Donald Trump stated that he plans to end the war between Ukraine and Russia. Specifically, he promised Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy that he wants to achieve "a fair deal for everybody."
Recently, Trump and Zelenskyy held talks in Paris. According to Reuters, during the negotiations, the Ukrainian leader explained to the US president-elect the need for security guarantees for Ukraine.
