Trump says 'there will be bombing' if Iran rejects nuclear deal

US President Donald Trump threatens Iran with bombing if the country does not reach a nuclear deal with the US, reports NBC News.
During an interview, Trump threatened Iran not only with "bombing" but also with "renewed tariffs." The US president is prepared to take such radical measures if Iran refuses to enter a deal with the US that would guarantee the country halts its development of nuclear weapons.
"If they don't make a deal, there will be bombing. It will be bombing the likes of which they have never seen before," Trump said about Iran.
According to the US president, representatives from the US and Iran are "talking."
However, in a statement on Sunday, March 30, Iran's President Masoud Pezeshkian said that he rejects direct talks with the US regarding the country’s nuclear program.
He explained that Iran had responded to Trump's letter about negotiations on a new nuclear deal. Tehran is reportedly open to dialogue with Washington, but only through intermediaries.
The Iranian president noted that the continuation of the negotiations would depend on the behavior of the US side.
US-Iran nuclear deal
In 2015, a deal was signed between Iran and the US, Russia, China, France, the UK, and Germany, which limited Tehran's nuclear program in exchange for the lifting of sanctions. In 2018, Trump withdrew from the deal and reinstated sanctions on Iran, which led to heightened tensions and Iran’s refusal to comply with some of its obligations.
However, Trump now wants to sign a new nuclear deal with Iran. According to media reports, Trump recently sent a letter to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, demanding that a new nuclear deal be signed within two months.
Khamenei rejected the US proposal for negotiations, calling it a "deception" and stating that dialogue with the Trump administration would only "tighten the knot of sanctions and increase pressure on Iran."
The Trump administration responded to Khamenei’s refusal to negotiate with Washington. It advised the Iranian leader to place the interests of the people above terror.
Recently, US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff hinted that the US may resort to military action against Iran if the country refuses to agree to a nuclear deal.
