US President Donald Trump, in a letter to Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, demanded a new nuclear deal be concluded within two months, according to Axios.

According to the agency's sources, Trump's letter to Khamenei was "tough" and not only proposed negotiations for a new nuclear deal but also outlined the consequences if Tehran rejects it.

Axios sources indicated that the American President set a two-month deadline for the deal, although it was not specified whether this timeframe started from the receipt of the letter or from the beginning of negotiations.

The US also informed several allies, including Israel, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE, about the contents of the letter.

US-Iran nuclear deal

It was previously reported that US President Donald Trump wants to sign a new nuclear agreement with Iran. The two countries had signed such a deal in 2015, but Trump pulled the US out of it in 2018.

Recently, President Trump sent a letter to Tehran proposing negotiations regarding Iran's nuclear program. The American leader is convinced that there are two ways to deal with Iran – military action or a deal.

However, Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei expressed reluctance to negotiate with a "bullying government" and accused the US of "dictating" and "imposing."

In response to Khamenei's refusal to negotiate with Washington, the Trump administration advised the Iranian leader to put the interests of the people above terror.
