Trump offers Iran to hold talks on a nuclear deal, Reuters reports

US President Donald Trump wants to negotiate a nuclear deal with Iran. He sent a letter to the country's leader with a proposal for such talks, Reuters reports.
According to the agency, Trump expressed hope that Iran would agree to negotiate a nuclear deal.
"I said I hope you're going to negotiate, because it's going to be a lot better for Iran. I think they want to get that letter. The other alternative is we have to do something, because you can't let another nuclear weapon," said the US president.
According to him, there are two "ways to deal with Iran" — military or through a deal.
"I would prefer to make a deal, because I'm not looking to hurt Iran. They're great people," Trump added.
Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has not yet responded to the American president's proposal.
US-Iran nuclear deal
It was previously reported that US President Donald Trump wants to sign a new nuclear deal with Iran. The two countries had signed such an agreement in 2015, but Trump pulled the US out of it in 2018.
Later, Trump expressed his desire to reach a deal with Iran regarding non-nuclear weapons. He prefers to resolve this issue diplomatically rather than resorting to possible military actions and bombings of the country.
Earlier, Bloomberg reported that in February this year, Trump, during a conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, asked him to mediate communication with Iran on issues such as its nuclear program.
