Trump says he won't 'bomb' Iran

US President Donald Trump has expressed his desire to negotiate a non-nuclear arms deal with Iran, opting for a diplomatic solution over potential military action or airstrikes, according to The New York Post.
During a flight aboard Air Force One, the US president told journalists that he “would like a deal done with Iran on non-nuclear.”
“I would prefer that to bombing the hell out of it… They don’t want to die. Nobody wants to die. If we made the deal, Israel wouldn’t bomb them,” Trump said.
However, the US president did not disclose details of any potential negotiations with Iran.
“I could tell what I have to tell them, and I hope they decide that they’re not going to do what they’re currently thinking of doing. And I think they’ll really be happy,” Trump stated, adding that he “would tell them I’d make a deal.”
He also did not specify what he intended to offer Iran in return but emphasized that he had no plans for airstrikes on Iranian territory.
“I won’t bomb them,” the US president declared.
Earlier this week, President Trump stated that he wanted to sign a new nuclear deal with Iran. He also dismissed reports claiming that “United States, working in conjunction with Israel, is going to blow Iran into smithereens" are greatly exaggerated.
It is worth recalling that the US and Iran previously signed such a nuclear agreement in 2015. However, during his first presidential term, Trump withdrew the US from the deal in 2018.
Additionally, on February 4, Axios reported that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu planned to ask Trump for weapons to strike Iran’s nuclear facilities during their meeting.
Around the same time, reports emerged that Trump had decided to sign a directive on “maximum pressure” against Iran. According to Western media, the goal was to eliminate all Iranian pathways to developing nuclear weapons and counter Tehran’s “malign influence” in the Middle East.
