Netanyahu to ask Trump for weapons to strike Iran’s nuclear sites - Axios

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will meet with US President Donald Trump in Washington. The Israeli leader may request weapons for strikes on Iran’s nuclear sites, according to Axios.
Trump and Netanyahu will discuss Iran’s nuclear program. The US President aims to reach a deal with Tehran that would eliminate the need for Israeli military action.
However, Axios reports that Netanyahu wants to get guarantees from Trump that if diplomacy with Iran fails, Israel will receive American weapons to target Iranian nuclear facilities.
The outlet also notes that the talks will likely address the normalization of relations between Israel and Saudi Arabia.
Iran's nuclear program
Previously, The New York Times reported that a team of Iranian scientists is studying a quick way to create nuclear weapons.
They are seeking a method that would allow them to convert their stockpile of nuclear fuel into nuclear weapons within a few months, rather than a year or more.
Meanwhile, French President Emmanuel Macron has warned that Iran’s nuclear program is approaching the point of no return.
In his view, Iran poses a security challenge for Europe and is one of the biggest strategic threats.
