Trump says he held tough talks with EU leaders on ending Ukraine war

US President Donald Trump discussed ending the war in Ukraine with French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, and UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer "in pretty strong words," according to the White House broadcast.
According to the US President, the conversation took place "in pretty strong words."
"We discussed Ukraine in pretty strong words, and we'll see what happens. I mean, we're waiting to hear answers before we progress," Trump told reporters.
He added that the parties had a minor disagreement about people. The US President also said that European leaders proposed holding a meeting in the coming days to resolve the conflict in Europe. He clarified that the American side would be present at the negotiations.
What came before
Yesterday, the leaders of Germany, France, and the United Kingdom informed Donald Trump about the situation in Ukraine. They stated that "intensive work on the peace plan" would continue in the coming days.
Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met in London with the leaders of the UK, Germany, and France. After the talks, he said that national security advisers from the four countries were working on the latest version of the US peace plan, which was brought by Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council Secretary Rustem Umerov.
European leaders, including Keir Starmer and Emmanuel Macron, will meet in Germany on December 15 to discuss the next steps regarding the Ukraine peace plan.
