Leaders of Germany, France, and the United Kingdom briefed US President Donald Trump on the situation in Ukraine, stating that "intensive work on the peace plan" will continue in the coming days, Sky News reports.
The briefing followed meetings between British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, French President Emmanuel Macron, and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
"The leaders discussed the latest on the ongoing US-led peace talks, welcoming their efforts to achieve a just and lasting peace for Ukraine, and to see an end to the killing," a Downing Street spokesperson said.
He emphasized that "intensive work on the peace plan" will continue over the next few days.
"They agreed that this was a critical moment - for Ukraine, its people and for shared security across the Euro-Atlantic region," the spokesperson added.
Similar statements were released in France and Germany regarding the call. Macron, during a public discussion, noted that the conversation lasted about 40 minutes.
Peace plan for Ukraine
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy recently met in London with the leaders of the United Kingdom, Germany, and France. Following the talks, he said that national security advisors from all four countries are working on the latest version of the US peace plan, brought by Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council Secretary Rustem Umerov.
Ukraine and Europe plan to develop an updated version of the document reflecting their own vision of how to end the war.
Earlier, Zelenskyy emphasized that the updated peace plan is intended to be submitted to the US as soon as today, December 10. The contents of the plan remain secret.
RBC-Ukraine also reported that European leaders, including Keir Starmer and Emmanuel Macron, will meet in Germany on December 15 to discuss the peace plan for Ukraine.
