European leaders, including UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer and French President Emmanuel Macron, will meet in Berlin to discuss a peace plan for Ukraine. The meeting is scheduled for December 15, Sky News informs.

According to the outlet, the meeting was first reported by Reuters, citing two anonymous EU diplomats.

According to their information, European leaders, including Keir Starmer and Emmanuel Macron, are expected to meet in Berlin on Monday to discuss a peace plan for Ukraine.

Later, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz officially confirmed plans for new negotiations on resolving the conflict.

"European security interests must be safeguarded... against this backdrop, we plan further coordination talks in the coming days," Merz said.

Sky News emphasizes that this comes after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated yesterday that he would soon share an "improved" version of the peace plan with the US.

US peace plan

The White House administration prepared a draft peace agreement, proposed as a basis for ending the war. The initial version of the document consisted of 28 points.

After criticism from Kyiv and European partners, the document was partially revised: instead of 28 points, it now contains about 20.

Yesterday, Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine, together with EU countries, has refined its own peace plan and is ready to submit it to the US in the near future.

According to the president, Ukraine, European partners, and the United States are currently coordinating three documents within the framework of the peace initiative: a framework agreement, a package of security guarantees, and a document outlining the principles of post-war reconstruction.
