Ukraine, together with its European partners, has finalized a peace plan to end the war and is ready to send the document to the United States in the near future, according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

He said that today there was a discussion with Ukraine's negotiating team on the results of work in London at the level of national security advisors from EU countries.

"We are working very actively on all components of potential steps toward ending the war. The Ukrainian and European components are now more developed, and we are ready to present them to our partners in the US," the President said.

Zelenskyy emphasized that Ukraine will be ready to send the finalized documents to the US very soon.

"We are committed to a real peace and remain in constant contact with the United States. And, as our partners in the negotiating teams rightly note, everything depends on whether Russia is ready to take effective steps to stop the bloodshed and prevent the war from reigniting," the Ukrainian leader added.

US peace plan

The administration of US President Donald Trump prepared a draft peace agreement, proposed as a basis for ending the war. The initial version contained 28 points.

These included the withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from Donbas, including areas currently under Ukrainian control. It also addressed limiting or reducing the size of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

After criticism from both Ukraine and the EU, the document was partially revised: instead of 28 points, it now contains about 20.

Ukrainian and American delegations continue consultations, trying to agree on the basic principles of a possible peace settlement.

Recently, Ukrainian representatives held another round of talks with the US side regarding the peace plan, after Trump's representatives Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner discussed peace proposals with Russian leader Vladimir Putin in Moscow.

On December 6, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had a two-hour phone conversation with Witkoff and Kushner. According to Axios sources, the parties discussed territories and security guarantees. On the latter issue, an agreement has effectively been reached.

Meanwhile, Trump recently said he is disappointed because the Ukrainian leader has not yet read the new US peace plan draft.
