US President Donald Trump stated that the leaders of European countries want a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and with representatives of the US, according to Trump’s communication with the press.
"With Zelenskyy and us," Trump told reporters.
According to him, the meeting may take place over the weekend.
He also said that the US wants to know something before the meeting and does not want to waste time.
The US President noted that Volodymyr Zelenskyy must be realistic about reaching a peace agreement with Russia.
Negotiations on a peace plan for Ukraine
Today, December 10, it became known that Ukraine has submitted its response to the US regarding the latest draft of the peace plan. Earlier, Volodymyr Zelenskyy had also mentioned this date. The contents of the plan remain secret.
The day before, Volodymyr Zelenskyy met in London with the leaders of the UK, Germany, and France. After the talks, he said that the national security advisors of the four countries were working on the latest version of the US peace plan brought by Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council Secretary Rustem Umerov.
Ukraine and Europe plan to develop an updated version of the document with their own vision of how the war can be ended.
At the same time, it is known that Ukraine and the US have not yet reached an agreement on the territorial issue. The US is attempting to pressure Ukraine to cede the Donbas to Russia, while Ukraine does not wish to do so.
RBC-Ukraine also reported that European leaders, including Keir Starmer and Emmanuel Macron, will meet in Germany on December 15 to discuss the peace plan regarding Ukraine.
