Trump's Special Representative for Ukraine to visit Kyiv in January - Reuters
Keith Kellogg, whom US President-elect Donald Trump nominated for the position of Special Representative for Ukraine, will visit Kyiv. His trip is scheduled for early January, Reuters reports.
According to sources from the news agency, Kellogg is expected to meet with senior Ukrainian officials in Kyiv. However, the Special Representative does not plan to travel to Moscow.
Sources told Reuters that Kellogg's team is working on arranging meetings with leaders of countries in Paris and Rome. However, the trip planning is still ongoing, and the itinerary may change.
Journalists' sources pointed out that the purpose of the trip is fact-finding rather than active negotiations.
As Reuters noted, the trip demonstrates Trump's desire to quickly bring an end to the war between Ukraine and Russia.
Trump wants to end the war
Recently elected US President Donald Trump stated that he plans to speak with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Russian President Vladimir Putin, as the war between Russia and Ukraine must come to an end.
The American politician assured that ending the Ukrainian-Russian war would be one of his main priorities in international politics.
