Trump: We will talk to Putin and Zelenskyy about ending war
US President-elect Donald Trump plans to hold negotiations with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Russian President Vladimir Putin. This is necessary to end the war, according to Trump's press conference.
Trump again emphasized that Zelenskyy wants peace. According to the US president-elect, the war in Ukraine is "the worst carnage that this world has seen since World War II."
Trump clarified that he has photographs of fields where soldiers' bodies lie on top of one another.
"It's got to stop. And we are trying to end this. We're gonna see. We'll be talking to President Putin and we'll be talking to the representatives, Zelenskyy, from Ukraine. We've got to stop this. It’s carnage," he added.
Trump's plans
US president-elect Donald Trump has repeatedly stated that he wants to bring an end to the war between Ukraine and Russia. Specifically, he has already nominated retired General Keith Kellogg as his special representative for Ukraine.
However, as noted by the head of the Ukrainian President's Office, Andrii Yermak, Trump does not yet have a concrete plan to end the war.
Today, the politician emphasized that his team intends to achieve "little progress" in the context of establishing peace between Ukraine and Russia.
