The son of newly elected US President Donald Trump has criticized the potential approval by current President Joe Biden for the use of American long-range weapons to strike Russian territory, according to a post from Trump's son on the social media platform X.

The businessman labeled the authors of the decision as imbeciles.

"The Military Industrial Complex seems to want to make sure they get World War 3 going before my father has a chance to create peace and save lives. Gotta lock in those $Trillions. Life be damned!!! Imbeciles!" wrote Trump's son.

Republican Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene expressed a similar view.

"The American people gave a mandate on Nov 5th against these exact America last decisions and do NOT want to fund or fight foreign wars. We want to fix our own problems. Enough of this, it must stop," she wrote on the social media platform X.

Biden's approval for ATACMS strikes on Russia

On the evening of Sunday, November 17, several US media outlets reported that President Joe Biden had reportedly authorized the Ukrainian Armed Forces to use ATACMS missiles for strikes on targets within Russian territory.

European media outlets also reported that the governments of the UK and France had allowed the Ukrainian military to target sites in Russia using Storm Shadow/SCALP cruise missiles.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that such things are not announced and emphasized that strikes are delivered not through words; the missiles will speak for themselves.

This authorization followed another massive missile strike targeting Ukraine's energy infrastructure.
