Trump reveals his plans for meeting with Putin: I'll tell him to stop war

US President Donald Trump, during his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, plans to demand that he stop the war against Ukraine, according to a press conference of the American leader.
"I am going in to speak with Vladimir Putin and I am going to be telling him, 'You've got to end this war, you've got to end it,'" Trump said.
He also called Putin’s decision to agree to meet with Trump in Alaska a "sign of respect," since he would be traveling "to another country."
At the same time, Trump clarified that immediately after his meeting with Putin, he will call European leaders, with whom he has "good relations."
"I'm going to meet with President Putin, and we're going to see what he has in mind, and if it’s a fair deal, I'll reveal it to the European Union leaders and NATO leaders and also to President Zelensky. I think, out of respect, I will call him first, and then I'll call them after," the American leader added.
Trump also said that, according to a poll conducted in Ukraine, 88% of Ukrainians would support a peace agreement.
Trump and Putin meeting
Last week, US President Donald Trump announced that on Friday, August 15, he would hold a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska.
The likely key topic of the negotiations will be resolving Russia’s war against Ukraine.
Already today, August 11, the American leader said that on Friday he will "go to Russia" to meet with Putin. Most likely, this was a warning.
Against the backdrop of Trump’s plans to meet with Putin, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that there is now a real chance to end the war with Russia.
