The President of the US, Donald Trump, plans to fly to Russia on Friday, August 15, to meet with President Vladimir Putin, according to a press conference of US President Donald Trump.

"You know, I am going to see Putin. I am going to Russia on Friday," he said.

The American leader did not disclose any additional details about where exactly his meeting with Putin would take place.

No meeting in Alaska?

Rumors about a possible meeting between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin began to spread after the US President’s special envoy, Steve Witkoff, traveled to Moscow and met there with the Kremlin leader.

During the meeting, they discussed the possibility of ending Russia’s war against Ukraine.

Already in the early hours of August 9, US President Donald Trump announced that he would meet with the Russian leader, Vladimir Putin, in Alaska on August 15.

The Kremlin confirmed this information. In particular, the aide to the Russian President, Yuri Ushakov, said that the US and Russia are "close neighbors," so a decision was made for the two leaders to meet in Alaska.
