Trump responds if he's ready to increase pressure on Putin

US President Donald Trump addressed whether he is ready to increase pressure on Russian leader Vladimir Putin to help end the war in Ukraine, Sky News reports.
During a meeting between Trump and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, he was asked whether he was ready to apply more pressure on Putin to end the war in Ukraine.
"I ended Nord Stream 2, nobody else did, and then Biden came in and immediately approved it," he replied.
Trump noted that it is the largest pipeline in the world, supplying Germany and other countries.
When asked what he expected from the German chancellor during their meeting, Trump described him as a "very good man to deal with."
"He's difficult, I would say. Can I say that?... He's a very great representative of Germany, I think all we want is to have a good relationship, the rest would just sort of follow very easily," Trump added.
US sanctions against Russia
US senators have introduced a bill proposing tough sanctions on Russia for rejecting a long-term peace with Ukraine.
The sanctions would take effect if Russia refuses to engage in good-faith negotiations for a sustainable peace with Ukraine or attempts to undermine Ukrainian sovereignty after a peace agreement is reached.
The legislation also includes a 500% tariff on imports from countries that continue purchasing Russian oil, gas, uranium, and other resources.
Additionally, Republican Senator Lindsey Graham warned Russian citizens of the devastating consequences of the ongoing aggression driven by Vladimir Putin, who refuses to end the war against Ukraine.
Graham also stated today that the US Senate is preparing to grant President Donald Trump expanded authority to take tougher action against Putin.
