Trump plans to offer Musk role in his administration if elected - Media
US Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is planning to offer billionaire Elon Musk a government position if he wins the election, according to Reuters, CNBC, and CoinGape.
According to the reports, in an interview with Reuters, Trump indicated that he would like to offer Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk a role in his cabinet or as an advisor if he secures victory in the US presidential election.
Trump praised Musk for his contributions to technology, particularly in electric vehicles and space exploration. He stated that Musk could play a valuable role in his administration or as an advisor, depending on whether Musk is willing to accept such a position.
The Republican candidate also mentioned that he would consider the possibility of canceling the $7,500 tax credit for certain new electric vehicles. CNBC notes that this could impact Tesla's business, as the company sells electric vehicles.
It is worth noting that Musk supported Trump in July after the former US president was targeted in an assassination attempt during a campaign rally in Pennsylvania.
In the November election, Trump will face Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic candidate.
