Democratic US presidential candidate Kamala Harris is likely to hold two rounds of debates with her opponent, Donald Trump, stated Harris' campaign communications director, Michael Tyler, according to The Hill.

According to him, if Trump appears at the debates scheduled for September 10, the "American people will have another opportunity to see the vice president and Donald Trump on the debate stage in October".

Tyler also added that on October 1, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, Harris' vice-presidential candidate, will participate in a debate with his Republican counterpart, J.D. Vance.

Background

Earlier, there were disagreements between Harris and Trump regarding the debates.

The Democratic candidate agreed to debate her opponent on September 10 on ABC News. However, Trump preferred to hold debates on September 4 on Fox News (a Republican TV channel) and on September 25 on NBC News.

Harris did not accept these conditions from the former US President. Instead, she promised to hold a second round of debates with Trump in October if he attends the debate on September 10.

Meanwhile, Tim Walz and J.D. Vance, the vice-presidential candidates, agreed to hold a debate on October 1, organized by CBS News.

A week ago, ABC News reported that Trump and Harris agreed to hold the debate on September 10.

According to the latest polls, Harris is leading Trump in almost all key states.
