US President Donald Trump stated that he is not thrilled with Russian President Vladimir Putin, according to the American leader’s statement at a press conference.

"I’m not thrilled with Putin. He’s killing too many people," Trump said when asked whether he had discussed the situation in Venezuela during their last call.

He added that he hopes to make progress toward a peaceful resolution of the war in Ukraine, once again repeating his claim that he "inherited" this war from "Biden, Zelenskyy, and Putin."

"If we had our people involved, that war would not have gone on very long. That war has become a bloodbath," the US president stated.

Trump also said that he is not afraid of Putin.

Trump is frustrated by Putin

Earlier, Politico reported that the Russian leader’s stubbornness in negotiations occasionally frustrates Donald Trump and complicates diplomatic efforts to end the war in Ukraine.

RBC-Ukraine noted that nearly half of US citizens express dissatisfaction with President Donald Trump’s handling of the Russia-Ukraine conflict: according to a survey by The Economist/YouGov, cited by The Hill, 49% of respondents said they "somewhat disapprove" or "strongly disapprove" of his approach to resolving the situation.

Politico points out that the Russian leader skillfully chooses moments for contact, including a two-hour phone call when the Kremlin discussed a possible summit while Trump simultaneously entertained the option of providing Ukraine with Tomahawk cruise missiles.

US President Donald Trump has stated that his goal for 2026 is to achieve peace worldwide.

RBC-Ukraine also reported that Trump reshared a news story hinting at Kremlin deception and obstacles to peace.
