Trump directs Witkoff and Kushner ahead of talks with Ukrainian delegation

American negotiators Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner presented a draft peace plan to US President Donald Trump and received his directives ahead of their meeting with the Ukrainian delegation, according to a report by Axios journalist Barak Ravid.
According to him, the consultations took place on Thursday, October 8. Witkoff and Kushner presented the US proposal to Trump before the start of a new round of negotiations.
US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Deputy National Security Advisor Michael Needham were also present at the meeting.
NBC News, citing a senior US administration official, reported that Ukrainian negotiators would discuss a new comprehensive plan in the US. It is intended to help break the deadlock in the process of ending the war with Russia.
The key topic of discussion will be a new, unified proposal covering all aspects of the conflict, with the aim of ending the war.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that negotiations between the Ukrainian and US delegations will take place in Miami on October 9 and 10. According to him, the Ukrainian side will call for increased pressure on Russia.
A source told RBC-Ukraine that the delegation includes Davyd Arakhamia, head of the Servant of the People parliamentary faction; Rustem Umerov, head of Ukraine's Foreign Intelligence Service; Kyrylo Budanov, head of the Office of the President of Ukraine; and Sergiy Kyslytsya, First Deputy Head of the Presidential Office.
