Ukrainian negotiators will discuss a new comprehensive plan in the US aimed at breaking the deadlock in efforts to end the war with Russia, according to NBC News.
The new round of talks, which began on Friday, is being led by US special envoy Steve Witkoff and Donald Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner.
The talks are another attempt to reach a diplomatic settlement amid an escalation of deadly air attacks on both sides of the border.
According to a senior US administration official, the key topic of discussion will be "a new, unified proposal that is focused on all aspects of the conflict to try to end the war."
A source told RBC-Ukraine that the Ukrainian delegation includes David Arakhamia, head of the Servant of the People parliamentary faction; Rustem Umerov, head of the Foreign Intelligence Service; Kyrylo Budanov, head of the Presidential Office; and Sergiy Kyslytsya, first deputy head of the Presidential Office.
Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukrainian and US delegations would hold talks in Miami on October 9 and 10. According to him, the Ukrainian side would call for increased pressure on Russia.
RBC-Ukraine also reported that Russia had cynically rejected the possibility of ending its war against Ukraine through diplomacy, even with US mediation.
