A Ukrainian delegation will hold meetings in the United States to discuss stepping up diplomatic efforts and preparations for possible trilateral talks with Russia. The members of the negotiating team have been revealed, an informed source said.

According to the source, the delegation will include Davyd Arakhamia, head of the Servant of the People parliamentary faction; Rustem Umerov, head of Ukraine's Foreign Intelligence Service; Kyrylo Budanov, head of the Office of the President of Ukraine; and Sergiy Kyslytsya, First Deputy Head of the Presidential Office.

According to the source, the meetings will begin tomorrow.

"They will discuss how to step up diplomatic efforts and prepare a trilateral meeting at the delegation level. The Americans may reach an agreement with the Russians sometime in the second half of October. They will also discuss, more broadly, what can be done to bring the war to an end," he said.

New Ukraine-US talks

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy previously announced that a Ukrainian delegation would visit the United States for talks on Friday and Saturday.

During a visit to Pryluky in the Chernihiv region, the president said that Ukraine could not simultaneously speak of a diplomatic deadlock and negotiate with Russia over future economic projects.

"One cannot, on the one hand, negotiate with the Russians about future economic projects, whilst on the other hand say that we find ourselves in some sort of... diplomatic stalemate," the president said.

He also called on US President Donald Trump to increase pressure on Russia.
