Trump claims talks with Putin on ending war and economic deals for US

US President Donald Trump has announced serious negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin regarding the end of the war in Ukraine, according to Trump's Truth Social.
According to Trump, he is also discussing "major Economic Development transactions which will take place between the United States and Russia."
"Talks are proceeding very well!" he added.
In addition, he mentioned a call between G7 leaders on the third anniversary of the war in Ukraine. He reiterated his statement that the war would never have started if he had been president.
"Everyone expressed their goal of seeing the war end. And I emphasized the importance of the vital “Critical Minerals and Rare-Earths Deal” between the United States and Ukraine, which we hope will be signed very soon!" Trump added.
He noted that the deal would provide the American people with compensation for the tens of billions of dollars and military equipment sent to Ukraine and would also contribute to Ukraine's economic growth.
Trump's position on the war in Ukraine
Donald Trump repeatedly promised during his election campaign to end the war in Ukraine.
On February 11, Trump stated that he would likely meet with Vladimir Putin by the end of the month. He has also recently begun making pro-Russian statements and effectively blamed Ukraine's leadership for the war’s onset.
Trump believes that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is a "dictator without elections," as he claims Zelenskyy has done nothing to end the war over the past three years.
Later, Trump acknowledged that Russia was responsible for the war but also shifted some blame onto Zelenskyy and former US President Joe Biden. According to Trump, Putin wants to make a peace agreement but added that he "doesn't have to make a deal. Because if he wanted, he would get the whole country".
