Trump campaign bets on Pennsylvania to beat Harris in upcoming elections
The GOP candidate Donald Trump's campaign believes that Pennsylvania is the key state they need to win to defeat Democratic Party candidate Kamala Harris, according to The Guardian.
Trump's team still believes that their candidate has an advantage over the current vice president in the electoral college, despite the sharp rise in support for Harris since the start of her campaign. Trump is planning to meet with his supporters in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, on Saturday.
At the same time, Trump's campaign acknowledges that Harris has garnered support from Black men, but their greatest concern is the vice president's active work with the white male population. It was Joe Biden's active work with this demographic group that helped him win the election in 2020, and four years earlier, it helped Trump.
The Republican headquarters considers this category crucial and believes that the choice of J.D. Vance will help tip the scales in their favor for victory in this state. Despite Vance's recent controversial statements, Trump's team believes that the presence of the Ohio senator could pull a certain number of these men to their side during the November vote.
Additionally, Republican representatives are trying to focus on another target audience in Pennsylvania, which they call "target persuadables." This category of people, which makes up about 11% of voters, mainly consists of non-white men under 50 who are moderate in their views. However, this audience has certain peculiarities: they do not use traditional radio and television, typically relying on online sources and podcasts, making it quite challenging to reach them.
Meanwhile, some staffers on the Republican candidate's team believe that even internal polls are not as optimistic about winning in key swing states. One of the companies that conducted surveys reported that recent polls indicate Trump has begun to lose his advantage even in North Carolina, where he previously led Harris.
Harris increases her lead over Trump
Following the withdrawal of current US President Joe Biden from the election race, Kamala Harris's team held a series of meetings with her supporters in various states.
Recent polls show that the Democratic Party candidate is leading Donald Trump by 5%. Another poll indicates that Harris maintains her lead over Trump in almost all key states.
