US President Donald Trump and his wife, US First Lady Melania Trump, have not ruled out the possibility of visiting Ukraine, according to a DRM News broadcast.
During a press briefing, Trump and Melania were asked whether they planned to visit Ukraine. The US first lady replied, "We will see."
Trump then spoke up, saying that it "could happen."
Possibility of ending the war in Ukraine
During the same appearance, US President Donald Trump said that Washington intends to do business with both Ukraine and Russia after the war in Ukraine ends.
In addition, a day earlier, he expressed hope that the war was nearing its end. Trump also effectively threatened Ukraine and Russia with tariffs if the two sides failed to reach a peace agreement.
It is important to note that trilateral talks between Ukraine, the US and Russia are scheduled to resume in the first half of November. Kyiv and Moscow have already confirmed their readiness to hold such a meeting, while media reports suggest the talks could take place in Abu Dhabi or Switzerland.
Ukraine and Russia, with Melania Trump acting as a mediator, agreed to a localized ceasefire in the area around Oleshky in the Kherson region. It is set to begin on the night of October 27.
The operation to unblock the city involves clearing roads of mines, establishing humanitarian corridors to allow free movement, and delivering medicine and food to civilians facing a humanitarian catastrophe.
