Trump aims to end Ukraine war quickly, Rubio says

On Friday, March 7, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio held a phone conversation with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha. The US diplomat stated that Donald Trump intends to end the war as soon as possible, according to the official US State Department website.
"The Secretary underscored President Trump is determined to end the war as soon as possible and emphasized that all sides must take steps to secure a sustainable peace," the statement mentions.
On March 7, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha also confirmed his conversation with Marco Rubio. According to him, the two discussed an upcoming meeting in Saudi Arabia between US representatives and high-ranking Ukrainian officials.
"I had a constructive conversation with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio. We discussed the upcoming meeting of the delegations of Ukraine and the US in Saudi Arabia," the minister wrote on social media.
Additionally, on March 7, a phone call took place between the US Secretary of State and the French Foreign Minister. The parties discussed ending the war in Ukraine, with Rubio stating that Trump is committed to achieving a just and lasting peace through negotiations. He also noted that the US will continue working towards this goal.
