​Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha held a call with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio. The parties discussed plans for the upcoming meeting in Saudi Arabia, according to Sybiha on Twitter (X).

"I had a constructive call with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio. We discussed the upcoming meeting between Ukrainian and US delegations in Saudi Arabia," the Ukrainian minister wrote.

He emphasized that Ukraine seeks to end the war, and US leadership is essential for lasting peace.

According to Sybiha, he also discussed ways of bilateral cooperation between the two countries with Rubio.

Meeting in Saudi Arabia

Yesterday, on March 6, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that next week, a Ukrainian delegation will meet with a US delegation in Saudi Arabia.

According to US National Security Advisor Mike Waltz, the meeting will focus on discussing the framework of a peace agreement between Ukraine and Russia.

Sources from RBC-Ukraine revealed that the Ukrainian delegation will be led by the Head of the Presidential Office, Andriy Yermak. The US delegation will include US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Waltz, and US Special Representative for the Middle East Steve Witkoff.

Today, Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Heorhii Tykhyi stated that Russian participation in the meeting between Ukraine and the US is not planned.
