Rubio and French Foreign Minister discussed Ukraine war in conversation

On Friday, March 7, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot held a phone conversation, during which they discussed ending the Russia-Ukraine war, according to the Associated Press and the official website of the US Department of State.
Rubio emphasized that US President Donald Trump is determined to achieve a just and lasting peace through negotiations, and the US will continue to work with France towards that goal.
The phone call came ahead of a meeting in Saudi Arabia next week, where Rubio, US National Security Advisor Mike Waltz, Special Representative for the Middle East Steve Vitkoff, and high-ranking Ukrainian officials are set to participate.

Yesterday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia confirmed the upcoming meeting between the US and Ukraine. They specified that it will take place in the city of Jeddah.
It was also reported that yesterday, the head of the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Andriy Sybiha, spoke with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio. The parties discussed plans for the upcoming meeting.
