Triple attack on Chernihiv: Death toll rises
The number of victims in Chernihiv has increased following the massive attack on January 3. Six people were injured, according to the head of the Chernihiv Regional Military Administration, Vyacheslav Chaus, during a television marathon.
"As of this morning, six people have been confirmed injured. Five of them sustained minor injuries and received medical assistance on-site. One is in hospital in moderate condition," he said.
Chaus also emphasized that a 72-year-old man was killed in the attack. According to the head of the Chernihiv Regional Military Administration, the man was an educator and a candidate of pedagogical sciences.
Reports on social media indicate that as a result of the triple missile strike on the outskirts of Chernihiv on January 3, Associate Professor Oleksii Halionka of the Department of Philological Disciplines and Teaching Methods at the Chernihiv Regional Institute of Postgraduate Education named after Ushynsky was killed.
In his Telegram channel, Chaus also reported that a drone hit in the Korukivka district of Chernihiv region at night, damaging windows in four houses.
Early in the morning, a drone strike was recorded in Chernihiv district, resulting in a fire. The Russians destroyed a residential building and a farm structure.
Triple strike on Chernihiv
On Friday, January 3, Russian occupiers carried out a triple strike on Chernihiv. The enemy likely used Iskander-M missiles.
According to the regional administration, more than 10 private houses were destroyed or damaged as a result of the shelling.
It was reported that five people were injured and one person was killed in the triple strike on Chernihiv.
