Switzerland to allocate 6.3 billion dollars for Ukraine's reconstruction

Switzerland has decided to allocate 5 billion Swiss francs (approximately 6.3 billion US dollars) for Ukraine's reconstruction. The aid will be provided over the coming years, according to the press service of the Office of the President of Ukraine.
As noted by the Office of the President, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting in Kyiv with the President of the National Council of the Federal Assembly of Switzerland, Maja Riniker.
"I believe these are important signals during such a difficult period for people — to see the leaders of countries, supporters, our partners who stand with us. And to see them not only in the capital — we truly value this," Zelenskyy emphasized.
The head of the Ukrainian state expressed gratitude for Switzerland's support in humanitarian demining efforts and financial assistance — "in particular, the decision to allocate 5 billion Swiss francs for Ukraine's reconstruction over the coming years."
The president also recalled the Peace Summit hosted by Switzerland last year, calling it an important step in the peace process.
"Our position remains unchanged: we condemn Russian aggression against Ukraine, and we remain committed to a comprehensive, just, and lasting peace, to international law, and to the UN Charter," Riniker stated.
Zelenskyy also discussed with Riniker the return of children deported by Russia. Switzerland is currently considering joining the International Coalition for the Return of Ukrainian Children, with related procedures ongoing in its parliament. Another topic of discussion was the work of Swiss companies operating in Ukraine.
New assistance from a Swiss company
The Swiss company PFIFFNER-Group earlier pledged to provide Ukraine with energy equipment valued at 100,000 Swiss francs (approximately 126,000 US dollars).
