Strikes on Ukraine's energy system reported in Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, and Chernihiv

During the night, Russia struck Ukraine's energy infrastructure, leaving a significant number of consumers without electricity in Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, and Chernihiv regions, according to a statement from the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine.
As a result of the combined strike, equipment of JSC Zaporizhzhiaoblenergo was damaged, causing power outages for many consumers in the regional center and Zaporizhzhia district.
The situation remains difficult in Sumy and Chernihiv regions.
Today, the enemy attacked Chernihiv region again. Hourly power outage schedules are still in effect, while energy workers continue efforts to reduce restrictions.
Emergency repair and restoration work is ongoing to restore electricity as quickly as possible.
"The Ministry of Energy thanks the energy workers who, risking their lives, continue to perform their duties and ensure the functioning of the energy system," the ministry added.
Massive attack on Ukraine
On the night of October 5, Russia carried out a massive attack on Ukraine. Lviv region and the city of Lviv were hit hardest. The enemy used almost all available types of weapons for strikes on the city and the region.
In addition to the western regions, Zaporizhzhia was also shelled. The massive attack caused power outages for tens of thousands of people, and part of Cherkasy region was also left without electricity due to damaged power lines.
During the night, strikes also hit critical infrastructure facilities in Ivano-Frankivsk region.
