Strikes in Poltava, Zaporizhzhia, and Kharkiv: Aftermath of massive Russian bombardment of Ukraine

Russian terrorists attacked Ukraine with cruise and ballistic missiles. Strikes hit the Kharkiv and Poltava regions, resulting in casualties among the civilian population.

Russian occupiers launched drone strikes on Ukraine starting the evening of January 31. In the early morning, they also attacked Ukraine with missiles.
Poltava and Poltava region
Around 7:07 AM, explosions were heard in Poltava. According to preliminary information from the regional military administration, no hits on civilian objects or casualties have been reported. However, there was damage to the energy infrastructure in the Myrhorod district.
164 residential consumers and one business remained without electricity. Specialists are already working to restore the power supply.
At 7:44 AM, another explosion was heard in the city.
According to the latest information from the Poltava regional military administration, a residential building in Poltava was hit. Rescue workers and emergency services are on the scene.

Rescuers reported that the occupiers struck a five-story building in Poltava with a missile. The entrance from the first to the fifth floor was destroyed, and a fire broke out. Neighboring buildings and 12 cars were also damaged.
Three people are confirmed dead, and ten others have been injured, including a child. A total of 21 people were rescued from the building.
Kharkiv and Kharkiv region
In addition, Russian forces attacked Kharkiv and the Kharkiv region with missiles. Head of the Kharkiv regional military administration, Oleh Syniehubov, reported around 7:30 AM that enemy hits were recorded in the Kharkivskyi and Berestynskyi districts.
"Information regarding the destruction and casualties is being verified by relevant services," the official said.
A series of explosions also occurred in Kharkiv. According to the city's mayor, Ihor Terekhov, there was a strike in the residential area of the Kholodnohirskyi district, and a fire broke out at the impact site.
Synehubov confirmed that as a result of the attack, a woman around 60 years old was killed.
As of 8:40 AM, it was reported that five people were injured in Kharkiv.
Zaporizhzhia
According to local authorities and the State Emergency Service, on the night of February 1, the Russian army launched 18 drone strikes on Zaporizhzhia. This is one of the most massive attacks on the city.
Fires broke out in various districts. Infrastructure facilities, multi-story and private houses were damaged. Buildings of educational institution, cars, garages, and private homes were on fire.
As a result of the attack, a 57-year-old man was injured but refused hospitalization.
Khmelnytskyi region
From 7:36 to 7:51, several explosions were heard in the Khmelnytskyi region.
According to the Air Force, enemy drones were moving from the Zhytomyr region toward the city of Starokostyantyniv.
Massive Russian missile attack
On the morning of February 1, the Russian aggressor launched a large-scale attack on Ukraine with cruise and ballistic missiles.
At around 5:30, an air raid alert was issued in the eastern regions due to the threat of ballistic weapon use. By 7:00, the alert was extended across all of Ukraine.
Throughout the night, Russian forces also attacked the country with Shahed kamikaze drones.
