Some of the messages circulating in the media about the US peace plan to end Russia's war against Ukraine are unfounded, a senior US source told RBC-Ukraine.
"I hardly need to say that you can't believe everything you read in the press. There are a lot of reports out there. Some of them are accurate, and some are not," the source said.
He declined to disclose details, citing closed-door diplomatic talks.
At the same time, the source noted that Trump's main message is that achieving peace will require concessions from both Ukraine and Russia.
US peace plan
The new US peace plan only became officially known today, November 20.
It was delivered to Kyiv by an American delegation led by US Army Secretary Dan Driscoll. He presented the initiative to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The Presidential Office has already said that Zelenskyy plans to discuss the details of the plan with US President Donald Trump.
The contents of the peace plan remain classified. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt explained that the plan is still being drafted and may undergo changes.
Meanwhile, Western media reported that the plan consists of 28 points, some of which are unacceptable for Ukraine.
Specifically, Kyiv is asked to agree to withdraw its troops from the Donetsk region, which, according to the plan, is to remain under Russian control. It also includes lifting sanctions on Russia and granting amnesty to war criminals.
More details about the new plan can be found in the material by RBC-Ukraine.
