Shelling of Kharkiv: Consequences reported
In another strike on Kharkiv, Ukraine, this evening on January 2, the Russian Federation has once again dealt blows to the city. As a result of the attack, civilian infrastructure has been damaged, and there is also reported shelling near a residential building, state Oleh Synegubov, the head of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration, and Ihor Terekhov, the Mayor of Kharkiv.
According to the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, the latest shelling of Kharkiv by Russian occupation forces has resulted in damage to civilian infrastructure. There is also reported damage to an educational institution.
"As of now, there are no casualties. Emergency services continue the assessment," noted Synegubov.
Meanwhile, the city's mayor, Ihor Terekhov, reported an incident of shelling near a residential building.
"Broken windows, information about casualties is being clarified. This is another act of terrorism targeting Kharkiv and an attempt to intimidate the peaceful residents," stated the mayor.
Explosions in Kharkiv
Powerful explosions rocked Kharkiv this evening, January 2. The Ukrainian Air Force had earlier warned of the threat of ballistic missile use in the Kharkiv region, followed by reports of a missile flying towards the city of Kharkiv.
The head of the Regional State Administration reported that, according to preliminary information, the occupiers targeted Kharkiv with S-300 missiles.
Massive Russian strike on Ukraine on January 2
On January 2, Russian occupiers launched rockets and kamikaze drones, named Shahed targeting Ukraine. The primary focus of the attack was Kyiv. The enemy unleashed a significant number of cruise missiles on the capital, along with 10 hypersonic Kinzhal missiles.
Despite the effective work of air defense systems, Kyiv and several regions suffered casualties. In the capital, dozens of civilians were injured due to falling debris.
According to rescue services, as a result of the shelling across Ukraine, the total number of casualties has exceeded 120 people.
