Seoul accuses Russia and North Korea of violating international law

South Korea considers sending North Korean troops to Russia to participate in the liberation of the Kursk region a violation of the UN Charter and the UN Security Council Resolution, according to the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Korea.
According to him, military cooperation between Russia and the DPRK is a mocking of international law.
"The dispatch of the North Korean troops, along with broader military cooperation between Russia and North Korea, constitutes a grave violation of international norms, including the U.N. Charter and U.N. Security Council resolutions," the ministry says.
UN Security Council Resolution 1718 prohibits any supply of arms and military technology to the DPRK that could be used in North Korea's weapons of mass destruction programs.
Sending North Korean troops to Russia
Russia is actively strengthening military and economic ties with North Korea, which began supplying Moscow with ammunition and missiles last year. In the early summer of last year, the dictators of both countries, Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong Un, signed an agreement on a comprehensive strategic partnership.
In the fall, it became known that North Korea had deployed over 10,000 of its military to Russia. Some of them have already been sent to the Kursk region, where North Korean soldiers are fighting alongside the Russian army against the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
At first, the Russians did not respond to information about North Korean troops fighting on their side. Even though the Ukrainian Armed Forces captured 2 North Korean soldiers in the Kursk region.
However, last Saturday, Russia confirmed the participation of North Korean soldiers in the war against Ukraine. Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces Valery Gerasimov reported to Putin on the alleged completion of the operation in the Kursk region.
In his report, he praised the North Korean military for working hand in hand with the Russian military.
A few days later, North Korea confirmed that it had sent troops to Russia.
