During a meeting with US President Donald Trump, the issue of security guarantees for Ukraine was discussed. In effect, everything is already ready, and the date and place for signing the security guarantees agreement are now expected from Trump, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said during a press conference.

According to Zelenskyy, meeting with Trump and his team was "positive." The issue of strengthening air defense was discussed, and the result is positive; upon its arrival in Ukraine, this will be officially announced.

The second issue concerns security guarantees for Ukraine. They are ready, and an agreement has already been prepared for signing. There will still be technical details, coordination of these details, and additional documents, but the main agreement already exists.

"Now I am waiting for Trump to provide the date and place. We are ready to sign such an important and historic document for us," the president said.

Zelenskyy added that there will be many details, as the document must be ratified by the US Congress and the Verkhovna Rada (Ukraine's parliament). However, overall security guarantees have been finalized, and everything else depends on the American side.

"We have finalized security guarantees. Signing depends on the American side — where and when. They are ready — we are ready," the president summarized.

Ukraine expects to sign a framework document on security guarantees with the United States after the World Economic Forum in Davos.

In early January, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said a bilateral document on security guarantees for Ukraine from the United States is effectively ready. He emphasized that the next stage will be finalizing the agreement at the highest level.

On January 13, the president said Ukraine continues to work with the United States on security guarantees and recovery, noting that signing may take place in the near future.

Overall, Ukraine is known to be discussing security guarantees on land, in the air, and at sea with partners. According to media reports, Britain and France are considering sending up to 15,000 troops to Ukraine if a peace agreement is reached.
