A sea drone found in western Greece turned out not to be a Ukrainian Magura, the manufacturer of the drones, Uforce, told Militarnyi.

The unmanned surface vehicle found off the Greek coast could not be its product. The company stressed that despite the visual similarities, the drone’s design, construction, and visible technical features do not match those of the Magura drone.

Uforce also emphasized that a Magura V3 model does not exist at all, since the company has never produced such a version of the drone.

What preceded it

On May 8, an unmanned surface vehicle was discovered in the Ionian Sea near the southern part of the island of Lefkada. Greek authorities said it had been identified as a Ukrainian Magura V3 sea drone.

The incident triggered a rapid response from several agencies, including the Greek Ministry of National Defense and specialized explosive ordnance disposal units.

Greek Defense Minister Nikos Dendias described the incident as an "extremely serious issue" and stressed that the presence of such a drone poses risks to maritime security in the Mediterranean.

Notably, new images of the Ukrainian Magura V7 unmanned surface vehicle have recently surfaced online. The drone's key feature is its ability to engage aerial targets while operating at sea.

In addition, the Ukrainian Book of Records officially recognized five combat records achieved by Ukraine’s intelligence through the use of the Magura family of sea drones.
