Satellite images of fire at depots in Russia's Tver region appeared
On the night of Wednesday, September 18, drones controlled by the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU), the Defense Intelligence (GUR), and the Special Operations Forces (SOF) struck a large missile depot in Russia. Satellite images of the fire at the depot have appeared online, Radio Svoboda reports.
The published images show a fire at an ammunition depot in Toropets.
In particular, the photos display satellite images of the 107th arsenal of the Main Rocket and Artillery Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Defense in Toropets. Some were taken on September 16, while others were taken today, following the attack by Ukrainian drones.
Interestingly, after the strike on the depot, it was also reported online that earthquakes occurred in the Tver region following the attack on the ammunition depot. The magnitude of the strongest earthquake was 2.8.
What preceded this
On the night of Wednesday, September 18, explosions were heard in the Tver region, and the Russians traditionally reported a drone attack.
Later, sources of RBC-Ukraine in the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) reported that Ukrainian drones struck an ammunition depot in the city of Toropets. It is worth noting that Toropets is located 488 km from the border with Ukraine. The city houses Military Unit 54169 and Military Unit 11777 (formerly 55443) – the 107th Arsenal of the Main Rocket and Artillery Directorate.
As a result of the strike, Iskander and Tochka-U missiles were destroyed, and a fire broke out.
According to preliminary information, the depots contained missiles, including Iskander and KN23.
