The counteroffensive of the Ukrainian Armed Forces continues on the Bakhmut and Melitopol fronts. The UAF has liberated the settlement of Andriivka in the Donetsk region, reports the spokesperson of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Andrii Kovalov, in a telethon.

As the spokesperson stated, the defense forces are continuing their offensive actions south of the city of Bakhmut.

"We have achieved partial success in the Klishchiivka area. Successful storming operations were also conducted, resulting in the capture of Andriivka in the Donetsk region. Our fighters continue to repel Russian advances on the Avdiivka and Maryinka fronts. Kovalov stated that the Russians conducted unsuccessful offensive operations in the Lastochkyne and Avdiivka areas. Over the course of a day, they attempted to displace our units from their positions about 10 times but were unsuccessful. Moreover, all enemy attacks in the Maryinka area were repelled.

"The Ukrainian defense forces continue to restrain the Russian advances on the Bakhmut front. The enemy's attempts to advance in the Bohdanivka area were unsuccessful. There were 25 combat clashes in the past day," the spokesperson added.

Liberation of Andriivka

In recent days, the Ukrainian command reported the progress of Ukrainian defenders on the southern flank of the Bakhmut front. Yesterday, Deputy Minister of Defense Hanna Maliar announced the liberation of Andriivka near Bakhmut, but the information turned out to be premature.

On the morning of September 15, the General Staff of the UAF confirmed the liberation of the settlement in the Donetsk region.
