Russia fires 574 drones and 40 missiles at Ukraine in one of the war's largest attacks

The enemy launched 614 air attacks. Among them were:

• 574 strike drones of the Shahed type and various types of decoy drones launched from the directions of Kursk, Bryansk, Millerovo, Oryol, Shatalovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Hvardiiske;
• 4 Kh-47M2 Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles from the airspace of the Lipetsk and Voronezh regions;
• 2 Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles from the Voronezh region;
• 19 Kh-101 cruise missiles from the airspace of the Saratov region;
• 14 Kalibr cruise missiles from the Black Sea;
• 1 missile of an unidentified type from Crimea.

The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare, and unmanned systems units, as well as mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.

According to preliminary data, as of 9 am (Kyiv time), air defense shot down and suppressed 577 air targets:

• 546 enemy drones of the Shahed type and various types of decoy drones;
• 1 Kh-47M2 Kinzhal aeroballistic missile;
• 18 Kh-101 cruise missiles;
• 12 Kalibr cruise missiles.

Missile and drone strikes were recorded at 11 locations, as well as the fall of downed targets and their debris at 3 locations.

Massive attack on the night of August 21

During the night of August 21, Russia carried out another massive attack on the territory of Ukraine. The Russian troops used Shahed strike drones, cruise missiles, and the aeroballistic Kinzhal.

Explosions were heard not only in the capital but also in several other regions.

The main strike of the enemy was directed at Lviv and the region, using kamikaze drones and missiles. A missile strike was also recorded in Mukachevo in Zakarpattia: one of the missiles hit a local enterprise. As of this morning, rescuers continued eliminating the consequences.

Local authorities warned residents about possible air pollution after the attack and urged them not to open windows.
