Russia claims strike on Putin's residence, Zelenskyy calls it preparation for attack on Kyiv
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov claimed that Ukraine attacked Russian President Vladimir Putin's residence on the night of December 29.
In response, Zelenskyy called Lavrov's statement another lie by Russia, emphasizing that it is looking for a pretext to strike government buildings in Kyiv.
"Russia is at it again, using dangerous statements to undermine all achievements of our shared diplomatic efforts with President Trump's team. We keep working together to bring peace closer," he said.
US peace plan does not restrict Ukraine's mobilization, army chief says
The US peace plan does not impose any restrictions on Ukraine regarding mobilization. At the same time, an army of 800,000 troops would be sufficient in peacetime.
Russian soldiers shot two Ukrainian captives in Donetsk region
According to the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor's Office, the crime occurred on December 27 during attacks on the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Shakhove village. The investigation revealed that representatives of the Russian forces captured two Ukrainian soldiers during their combat mission in one of the positions.
Threatening with firearms, the occupiers forced one of the captives to undress partially, and then shot both disarmed soldiers. After the murder, the occupiers removed the clothes of the second deceased defender.
Zelenskyy suggested Trump to provide Ukraine with 30-50 years security guarantees
"I told him that we have already had a war, and it has been going on for almost 15 years. So, we would very much like the longer guarantees. And I told him that we would really like to consider a 30-40-50-year period. Then it would be a historic decision by President Trump. The President said that he would think about it," Zelenskyy said.

Estonia assesses risk of possible Russian attack on NATO countries
At present, there are no signs that Russia is planning to attack any NATO member state, stated Kaupo Rosin, director general of Estonia’s Foreign Intelligence Service.
Rosin also noted that Russia has "changed its behavior" following Western responses to provocations, including damage to undersea cables in the Baltic Sea and drones entering NATO airspace.
