Russian subversive groups reduce activity in border areas of Ukraine
Russian subversive groups have reduced their activity in the border areas of Ukraine. The saboteurs do not engage in combat, but try to mine, according to Andrii Demchenko, spokesperson for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.
According to him, border guards have recorded a decrease in the activity of the subversive group, particularly in the Sumy region. But Russia has not completely abandoned subversive activities. This is observed periodically in the Chernihiv region.
"Previously, subversive reconnaissance groups tried to engage Ukrainian defenders or seize some positions, but now subversive activities are more manifested in the form of mining," says the spokesperson.
Demchenko adds that Ukrainian defenders are actively countering Russian saboteurs. The military uses drones and technical means of terrain control to expose subversive groups in time and prevent them from taking any action on the territory of Ukraine.
According to the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine spokesperson, the activity of Russian subversive reconnaissance groups has decreased due to the actions of the Ukrainian military in the border areas.
Kursk operation
Ukraine's offensive operation in the border areas of Russia's Kursk region has been going on for almost a month. The Ukrainian Defense Forces have managed to take control of more than 100 settlements. A military commandant's office was established in these areas. The Ukrainian Armed Forces explained why it is needed.
As previously explained by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the Kursk operation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine helped to drive away the threat to the northern regions of Ukraine. He also noted that Ukraine plans to hold the occupied territory until Russian dictator Vladimir Putin is forced to the negotiating table.
