Russian strike on Kyiv: Death toll rises to 9

The number of civilian fatalities in Kyiv has risen following a brutal Russian attack. As of now, nine people have been confirmed dead, according to the Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs.
"As a result of the Russian attack on the capital, nine people have already been killed. Over 1,200 police officers and emergency workers have been deployed to respond to the aftermath of the strike in Kyiv," the ministry stated.
It also noted that the number of injured people from the strike on residential buildings continues to grow.
As of 3:30 p.m., search and rescue operations near the damaged high-rise buildings are ongoing. The workers of the rescue team have removed 500 tons of debris and cleared 36 destroyed vehicles.
Four canine search teams have been brought in to assist in locating people. In addition, psychologists from the State Emergency Service have provided support to nearly 100 victims.
"Police have received around 2,000 reports from citizens, including those about damaged property. Investigators remain at the scene to continue registering statements," the Interior Ministry added.
Meanwhile, at mobile service points of the migration service, residents who lost their documents have already been issued four ID cards and one driver's license.
Strike on Kyiv
On the night of July 31, Russian forces launched a drone and missile attack on Kyiv.
As a result of the attack, a section of a residential building was destroyed in the Sviatoshynskyi district of Kyiv. Several apartments were also damaged in buildings located in the Solomianskyi district.
According to the latest reports, at least 135 people have been injured. Search and rescue operations under the rubble are ongoing.
