Russia previously struck an American-owned enterprise in Ukraine located in Trostianets, Sumy region. The target was a factory of the confectionery brand Mondelez International, according to a post by Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha on X.

“Today, Russia struck another American business in Ukraine—a civilian production facility of Mondelez in Trostianets—one of the first major U.S. investments in Ukraine’s independent economy,” Sybiha wrote.

The foreign minister said a missile hit one of the production buildings. There were no casualties.

Sybiha noted that the facility in Trostianets, which was hit by the aggressor, is not a military target but a plant that has been operating since the 1990s, producing world-famous brands, employing Ukrainians, and contributing to both the Ukrainian and American economies.

“When Russian missiles hit such sites, they are not only targeting Ukraine. They are targeting American business interests in Europe. Moscow cannot speak of economic dialogue with the United States while attacking U.S.-owned production facilities,” the minister added.

He emphasized that Russia’s attack on civilian industry is not war but deliberate economic terror, for which those responsible must be held accountable.

Russian strikes on American businesses in Ukraine were also recorded earlier. For example, on January 30, the enemy hit warehouses of an American enterprise in Kharkiv Oblast with a ballistic missile.

Meanwhile, Russians are urging US President Donald Trump to do business with them. For example, recently Kirill Dmitriev, a Kremlin representative, wrote that lifting anti-Russian sanctions would be in Washington’s interests, as countries could then engage in highly profitable joint projects worth trillions of dollars.
