On the night of November 17–18, Russian forces launched missile strikes on Berestyn in the Kharkiv region. The attack caused injuries, and it is now reported that a girl has died, according to Oleh Syniehubov, head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, on Telegram.
“A 17-year-old girl who sustained severe injuries in the missile attack on the city of Berestyn has died in the hospital,” Syniehubov wrote.
He also added that 9 people are currently reported injured. Seven of them were hospitalized with explosive trauma, and two others suffered acute stress reactions.
Attack on Berestyn
Late in the evening of November 17, air raid alerts were announced in Kyiv and several regions of Ukraine due to the threat of ballistic weapons.
Following this, the Ukrainian Air Force detected at least two high-speed targets (missiles). The first was flying past Berestyn on a course toward the Poltava region, followed by another in the Kharkiv region.
It is currently unclear how many missiles actually hit Berestyn. However, based on the statements of the regional administration head, it appears there was more than one strike.
After the incident, Oleh Syniehubov wrote that, preliminarily, 9 people were injured, including a 16-year-old boy.
