Russian drones hit Ukraine's Lviv, Ternopil, Ivano-Frankivsk: Latest updates

By the evening of March 24, almost all western regions of Ukraine were under drone attack. There were hits in Lviv, and explosions were also reported in Ternopil, Ivano-Frankivsk, and Vinnytsia.
RBC-Ukraine has compiled everything currently known about the consequences of the attack on western Ukraine.

Lviv and region
In Lviv, drones hit residential buildings on Soborna Square, Brativ Rohatyntsiv Street, and Chervona Kalyna Street. The attack caused casualties and damaged UNESCO heritage sites. Drone debris also fell on Bandera Street.
In the village of Sernyky, part of the Bibrka territorial community, a house caught fire due to falling drone fragments.
"Preliminarily, seven people were injured. One person is in serious condition," the Lviv regional military administration reported at 05:12 PM Kyiv time.

As Lviv Mayor Andrii Sadovyi clarified, five of the injured are from Sykhiv (a residential district of Lviv, located in the southeastern part of the city - ed.) and two are from the center of Lviv. Among the injured is a 51-year-old woman with mine-explosive injuries to her lower limbs.
As of 05:45 PM, the number of injured in Lviv had risen to 13.

As of 06:40 PM, it is reported that all the injured are in hospitals. The Lontskoho Prison Museum sustained damage from the drone attack. In Sykhiv, one building was struck by two drones at once, Sadovyi said.
Ivano-Frankivsk and region
Air defense forces were active in Ivano-Frankivsk, the mayor Ruslan Martsinkiv reported.
There is also a threat to Rohatyn and Burshtyn, the Ivano-Frankivsk regional military administration warned.
As of 06:05 PM Kyiv time, there was an attempted enemy attack on an administrative building near the center of Ivano-Frankivsk.
"Unfortunately, some windows were damaged, including those of the maternity hospital and surrounding buildings. Everyone in the perinatal center was in shelters. All remain alive and unharmed," Mayor Ruslan Martsinkiv said on Suspilne.
As of 06:30 PM, two people have been reported dead as a result of the attack on central Ivano-Frankivsk, the regional military administration said. Four more people were injured, including a six-year-old child.
The attack damaged the city and regional maternity hospital buildings, as well as around 10 residential buildings.
Ternopil
An explosion was also heard in Ternopil, along with air defense activity against an enemy drone.
Currently, there is no information on the consequences of the attack.
Vinnytsia
The Russian forces attacked Vinnytsia in the evening, the Vinnytsia regional military administration reported.
As of 06:55 PM, it is reported that a 59-year-old man was killed in the massive attack on Vinnytsia. Eleven others were injured: six were hospitalized, and five received medical care and continue treatment at home.
All relevant services are working to deal with the aftermath, Mayor Serhii Morhunov noted.
Zhytomyr
In Zhytomyr, a 12-year-old girl was injured in a Russian attack, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine reported at 07:20 PM.
"The child was hospitalized, and doctors are providing her with all necessary care. The attack damaged a two-story residential building, and the blast wave shattered windows in nearby buildings," the Ministry said.

Air Force has neutralized over 500 drones since morning
According to the Air Force, between 09:00 AM and 06:00 PM Kiv time, the enemy reportedly deployed 556 strike drones. Preliminary data shows that Ukraine’s air defense shot down or suppressed 541 of these drones, with 15 confirmed hits.
"The geography of the attacks during the day was broader than at night: Poltava, Kyiv, Mykolaiv, Vinnytsia regions, and western parts of the country, from Khmelnytskyi to Lviv," the Air Force reported.
Russia has not stopped its attack on Ukraine since the night
On the night of March 24, the Russian forces began a massive air attack on Ukraine. Overnight, the enemy launched several hundred drones at various regions of Ukraine, as well as ballistic and cruise missiles.
As a result of the night attack, people were killed and injured. Kyiv, Poltava, Zaporizhzhia, and other cities were hit.
In the morning, the enemy continued to launch drones massively toward Ukraine. According to the adviser to the Defense Minister, Serhii ("Flash") Beskrestnov, the enemy is testing a new tactic against Ukraine.
